CPR-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Course Description: This ½ day course is designed to teach the knowledge and skills required to maintain breathing and circulation in an adult, child or infant following cardiac arrest. The content is based on Australian Resuscitation Council 2006 guidlines.

Topics covered include assessing the chain of survival, assessing the situation, identifying signs of life, performing CPR, demonstrating the use of an automated external defibrillator, care of the unconscious person, techniques for children and infants, CPR invarying circumstances and reporting procedures. It addresses airway management, emergency action principals, EAR, ECC, CPR rates and techniques.

Current industry standard requires reaccreditation every 12 months.
