What looked like being a one-sided game at half-time, ended up with a scintillating finish - the Sprinters clawed their way back from 3-0 down to edge into a 5-3 lead over the Brights with 2 minutes to go. Nail-biting stuff until Scott stepped up with two flashes of brilliance to level the score just at the final whistle. Kerry got best on ground and it's just fantastic to see his playing style develop - he really linked up superbly with Max and Leon on many a raid into the opposing half. Emma was also in flying form so much kudos to her.

A number of the group are regularly using their outside-of-foot to pass which has significantly extended their range of kicking options and it was also exciting to see plenty of back-heels and one or two of those tricky 'Kick-on-the-turn' manouevres. Well done all!

The Far South Coast Community College now offers a Seniors Internet Kiosk courtesy of a NEC/Australian Government's Broadband for Seniors funding grant.

Seniors in the community can access free training in the use and benefits of the internet and gain valuable skills to assist them to take part in the digital world.

The kiosk is open during College hours and the steady stream of clients is increasing as the word gets around.

One of the most pleasing aspects in the number of seniors who have then progressed to purchasing their own computers and are setting up at home. The College has also been involved with this development and assists seniors to make this transition.

Please call the College on 6492 0052 to book in for training, inquire about access or find out more.

Investing in Community Education and Training (ICET) Project

In 2009, the Australian Government announced the Teaching and Learning Capital Fund (TLCF) for Vocational Education and Training (VET). The program, as part of a $4.7 billion nation-building infrastructure package to support Australia's economy.

Investing in Community Education and Training (ICET) - a total of $100 million - was made available to community education and training providers, who were able to apply for small capital grants of between $50,000 (GST exclusive) and $250,000 (GST exclusive) to assist with maintenance or the purchase of equipment and for larger grants of $250,000 to $1.5 million (GST exclusive) for major capital infrastructure developments or upgrades.

The Far South Coast Community College was awarded a grant of $63,500 to help fund an $80,000 project to upgrade its premises and infrastructure at 32 Church Street Bega NSW.

These improvements include new floor coverings, a new street-front reception area, 2 new kitchenettes, gas heating, roof insulation and cooling, hot water, widening of doors for disabled access and a new disabled access ramp at the rear of the college.

Landlords, Ingoodwe Trust, and the College have also contributed to the refurbishment.
